Sentinel Leisure Trust prides itself on being a local charitable trust with charitable outcomes and objectives. Not only do we provide sport and leisure services across the district of Waveney and Great Yarmouth, we re-invest back into sport and leisure to continually improve the lives and opportunities of local residents and visitors to the area.
Back in 2014, the Lowestoft Christmas Day Swim was cancelled due to the previous organisers not being able to continue the great work they have done years before. A management group was set up of local organisations, spearheaded but Sentinel Leisure Trust and the Christmas Day Swim was ressurected and continues to this day.
The swim aims to raise much needed funds for LOCAL ORGANISATIONS/CHARITIES who provide great work to those in need throughout the year and deserve the recognition they sometimes do not recieve. In total, since SLT took over the running of the swim, it has raised over £35,000 for local groups who serve in and around Lowestoft.
A MASSIVE £10,000 WAS RAISED FOR LOCAL CHARITIES TWO YEARS IN A ROW !!

THE BRIAN GALLAGHER FOOTBALL FUND was set up not only to recognise the work Brian did with Grassroots Football, but also to support organisations in Lowestoft who work with children below the age of 16. The funding applications must show how the funding will assist in the provision of grassroots football in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their condition of life.More Info
The MAKING MEMORIES scheme has been developed to create bespoke packages, giving local people access to our facilities and services. Enabling positive and lasting memories, supporting people and families affected by terminal illnesses and or serious mental / physical impairments.
The CHANGING LIVES SCHEME has been developed to support someone who has extraordinary health issues/conditions/ailments that pose serious risk to their health and wellbeing, but can be improved through our additional support. The scheme a 6 month sponsored intervention, including a bespoke package to suit each individual need to improve the quality of life. The scheme will be undertaken post referral course to further support the client through to achieving their goal in health & wellbeing.More Info !
