Christmas Day Swim
The swim aims to raise much needed funds for LOCAL ORGANISATIONS/CHARITIES who provide great work to those in need throughout the year and deserve the recognition they sometimes do not recieve. In total, since SLT took over the running of the swim, it has raised over £50,000 for local groups who serve in and around Lowestoft.
Changing Lives & Making Memories
The CHANGING LIVES SCHEME has been developed to support someone who has extraordinary health issues/conditions/ailments that pose serious risk to their health and wellbeing, but can be improved through our additional support. The scheme a bespoke sponsored interventione to suit each individual need to improve the quality of life. The scheme will be undertaken to further support the client through to achieving their goal in health & wellbeing.
The MAKING MEMORIES scheme has been developed to create bespoke packages, giving local people access to our facilities and services. Enabling positive and lasting memories, supporting people and families affected by terminal illnesses and or serious mental / physical impairments.
Brian Gallagher Football Fund
THE BRIAN GALLAGHER FOOTBALL FUND was set up not only to recognise the work Brian did with Grassroots Football, but also to support organisations in Lowestoft who work with children below the age of 16. The funding applications must show how the funding will assist in the provision of grassroots football in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their condition of life.
Lowestoft O-go-go has shown that key to success is finding out what people want from sport & what is stopping them from getting involved, before designing an offer that’s appealing, accessible & secures their long-term involvement.
We aim to show individuals that sport & physical activity can be informal, fun & social & demonstrate how it can be incorporated into people’s everyday lives. We will offer support, choice & opportunity for regular ongoing participation. The innovative programme will take traditional & non-traditional activities to non-traditional venues to show that participation is open to everyone.
